Why driving sucks

So, I'll probably never learn to drive.

Yes, I'm older than 20 and I don't know how to drive. I'll probably never learn, and I don't want to. I've never even tried to learn.

Why?

Because I'm not stupid. If I ware behind the wheel, I'd be a danger to myself and everyone around me.

For one thing, I have a hard time paying attention to one thing for a long time. ADHD, they call it. Basically, rather than paying attention to my surroundings, I'd be thinking about a Youtube video I watched earlier, or about what to have for lunch, or something like that. Yeah, I know some people think about stuff like that when they drive. For one thing, they've been driving for long enough that it's mostly automatic for them. Secondly, they're idiots, and they're going to get themselves killed one day.

Also, I'm not sure if it's related to the ADHD, but my situational awareness is godawful. Even in FPS games, I'm utterly unable to be aware of my surroundings. Oddly enough, it's like tunnel vision - I pay attention, but not to what I should be paying attention to. As such, I can't even imagine how I would be able to keep in mind the positions and movements of 4-5 other vehicles while simultaneously signalling and making a turn. I just have no idea how I would do it.

Besides, driving is dangerous. Even for professions like explosive technicians and people who work with heavy machinery and construction workers on skyscrapers, the most dangerous part of their day will be when they drive to work and drive home.

You think I'm joking, but I'm serious. When you drive, you are essentially betting your life that of all the vehicles that share the road with you, not a singe one of their drivers will mess up for the entire duration of your trip. You're hoping that neither you nor any of your fellow drivers makes a mistake, and people make thousands of mistakes every single day.

So, yeah. I'm not going to drive, because it seems like an easy way to either die or end up killing someone else.
